First, a User Account was added without my knowledge called "ASP.NET Machine
A". I typed it under goggle.com and discovered it is a Microsoft product.
It only shows in the User Accounts in the Control Panel but otherwise not on
the login screen. Does anyone know if it was put thier by Microsoft or what.
Next item, my Norton Antivirus discovered a trojan horse in the
"winaspi32.exe" file and quarentined it without the abilitiy to repair it.
Is there an easy way to replace the file other than reinstalling XP? Final
item, whenever I run Update for Norton, I get a message from Common Client
Update stating the files below could not be updated by LiveUpdate:
-----------------------------------
File: C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\SYMANT~1\ccWebWnd.dl^
238712 Bytes 7/14/2004 22:18:08 v103.0.0.83.

Once again would reinstalling XP be beneficial.

Thank you.

It was. This was installed in the automatic updates you have enabled.

Start your machine in safe mode, scan your system with NAV in safe mode.

ASP.NET account is likely to be created if u installed VisualStudio.NET or
other product. I think there is no problem with that.

But I think your LU mechanism is infected with a virus.

For the first issue, that account was created by an update that
installed the .NET Framework. It does no harm. For the second issue
run the scan in safe mode. For the last issue contact Symantec Tech
Support.

Yes - it is added (I don't know why) if you install the .NET Framework
from Windows update. Innocuous, ignore it. If it is showing at
Welcome, Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Its Logon, uncheck 'Show ASPNET on Welcome screen', and Apply

It is not a windows file, but support used in some CD Burning programs
and the like. You should be able to find it at www.adaptec.com
