I have a word document sent to me by email, it was created
in word 9, the actuall file is 3 page, when I download the
file in to my computer and check the property by right
clicking on the file, it says the file is one page and
when i open the file and use the word count from tool
option it says different thing of property about the
number of words, can somebody tell me why? could it be
because I have office XP and the file.

Hi Amir,

When you look at these properties, you'll get the values that
Word last stored, on the system where the document was open.

1. "Last stored" doesn't necessarily mean "current"

2. Since Word's page layout is totally dynamic, and
printer-driver-dependent, the number of pages when you open a
document on your machine may not correspond to what someone
else was seeing on their installation

So this "Property" information for a *closed* document is not
necessarily definitive or accurate.
