Turn off calendar background colors - Outlook 2007

John

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me how to turn off the background colors in Outlook 2007
calendar?

I have appointment items that are categorized and so carry their respective
color, whichis what I want, but I don't want the whole day colored that
color as well.

Any clues?

Thanks

John

Hi Diane,

Thanks for you reply. Yes, I've come across this, but it only changes the
default background color (ie the background for an entire month). My
problem is that a day's background get's the same color as the appointment
item placed on it. So for example, if I have a "Personal" category of
yellow, and I add an appointment of that category to say Tuesday 4th, the
background color of Tuesday 4th becomes yellow too.

It seems to be linked to "Show as: Busy" field. I wonder if there's a
registry setting that could be changed to prevent this behaviour?

Thanks again

John

It's only all day events, isn't it? That can't be turned off - its shaded
using the calendar color if no category is assigned. Attentive and out of
office also shade the calendar blocks.

Hi Diane,

Oh yes, it is only all day events. Well not to worry and thanks for
checking.

I was having a quick look at the
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar\UseSameColor"
but changing it had no effect. Do you know what that key does?

Thanks again

That forces all calendars to use the same color; instead of each a different
color.
