Within the past week the following problems have cropped up on my computer:
When clicking on files, folders, drives etc...they either take forever to open
or they don't open at all and my desktop icons, taskbar etc 'go away' and then
come back without the clicked on item ever opening.
The same problem occurs when I try to right click anything on my desktop or
within a file or folder.
I have no problems with IE can click and right click within that, everything
having to do with being online works fine.
About the time the troubles started I had installed Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD and
made a system restore point prior. I tried going back to that system restore
point and it won't. Have uninstalled Pinnacle and am still having the same
issues. Also, there are two users on this machine, and the other user had a
desktop link on his taskbar which is still there, but is showing some other
desktop other than his (programs etc are different) and it's not mine.
We are running WinXP Home with IE6. We use Norton Antivirus and have run it
twice now (it's updated every couple days & auto too) with no virus found.
Please help, as it's almost impossible to try and get anything done when things
