On a daily basis, every time i log on to the internet and open up my browser (BTYahoo browser) a default icon appears on my desktop (which is a link to a casino site).
What this seems to do is to dump a dat file in C/windows/prefetch and a corresponding file in c/documents and settings/local settings/temp.
I can run AVG which heals them or delete them manually but as soon as i re-connect to the internet it does it all other again, but the files are renamed as something else.
Obviously there is something somewhere that is replicating itself in some way which is causing this dialler (trojan dialler 8 u) to manifest itself.
Can anybody give me any help on how to get rid of this?

Hi

The following programs will check for any spyware that may be on your
system:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Try booting to Safe Mode,

then
empty the prefetch folder
and the temp folder
manually

then
run AVG and all spycleaners again,

then reboot.
