Transferring files to new computer

We're getting a new computer with XP Media, we have an older PC with XP in it
also. My friend gave me a cord that he says to hook up between the two, using
the printer ports. Is there anything I need to know to transfer files from
the old one to the new one?

Any info would be apprecitated or a link with instructions.

Look at using the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. See this link for
