--I am using windows xp.
--I have some problems regarding file type for Folder Option.
--Whenever i double click on c or d drive it open search window for that same.
--Also itry to changed the type from search to open as defualt but it cann't
work.
--I try to create same type (like new type and folder(NONE) and mode to open)
but it doesn't affect.
--Actually I don't know What to do next?

This is a real common problem.

Try this first.

Click Start | Click Run | Type or paste the following line:

regsvr32 /i shell32

Click OK.

Hy Friend
That was really very helpful for me.
but now problem is Double click not work anywhere in Xp.
nigher on folder nor on file.
So if you have new idea for that then reply me.

I have two folder in folder option where we discuss.
and one have only search as defualt action type.
another hase two 1) explorer 2) Open In that Open defualt action type.
still not work.

I checked another computer same thing but that's same as my computer.

A few thoughts:

Try the double-click test in the Control Panel, Mouse applet. Does the
double-click work there?

If you right-click the shortcut/folder you tried to double-click, what
option is in bold? If none, the associations for that filetype need to
be fixed. Fix File Associations.
