For under $400 you can probably choose between a smaller, better quality
monitor, and a larger not-so-good.

Specifications are one thing, but it's always a good idea to actually look
at monitors before you buy.

Another thing to look at is the warranty. The better models have a one-pixel
guarantee, meaning that if a single pixel goes out, it can be returned.
Others are not going to let you return it until you have a larger number of
failures, some I've seen are as many as 6 or 7.
