Terminating Processes

I got this adware installed, and the software that eliminates detectes it, but it is unable to eliminate it because it is loaded into memory.
I do Ctrl+Alt+Del and try to eliminate the process( I have Win XP) but it tells me Access Denied.
How do I terminate the process?

1. Start Windows in Safe Mode (F8 key at start up).
2. Run Adaware.
3. Reboot.
