I have tens of thousands of ie5 tempory files on my
computer and want to remove them.
I go to the folder where it says they are and cannot see
them I have settings set up to see all files. I cannot
rename or delete the folder and want to get rid of them.
I see them as i scan for ad ware or viruses. Some one
point me in the right direction please.

I have never had ie5 on this drive and did a new install
of xp.
they are located at
socuments and settings\(my name)\local settings\
temporary internet files \ contnet.1e5\(about 50 thousand
files.)

The easiest way is to start your browser, then on the Menu Bar at the top -
go to Tools>Internet Options...
In the middle of this window is a button called "Delete Files..." Press this
and put a check in the next little window, then press Ok on both windows.
You can also delete all the cookies while here. If you press the third
button called "Settings", change the value in the box for "Amount of disk
space..." to 60 or 70 MB. That should be plenty and will stop the file from
growing too large and/or getting corrupted.

Open IE and go to TOOLS/Internet Options and at the General tab, click on
SETTINGS and on the new window click on VIEW FILES... You will see all the
files there..
However, when the General tab window is open you can see DELETE FILES button
and go ahead and click it, then be sure and click OK to delete OFFLINE files
as well... This will get rid of them... Running XP you can't see them in
Explore.
