System Restore restoration incomplete

My System Restore has been failing me when I need it the most. I do a lot of
online research and job hunting and email and my SpyWare programs
unfortunately con't catch as much as I would like them to. When this happens
I figure no sweat I'll just use System Restore and it has been failing me
miserably.

I have Win XP Pro sp2 and a Windows SBS 2003 standard edition dual boot.
Alos how do I activate system restore on small business server 2003 or am I
out of luck and need a third party? I could have sworn I saw it on my old
work machine but can't locate it on mine.

Thanks in advance for any help other than the "undo last restoration" fix
because Iit doen't show this and I have retried restore to different points
over and over. I did have to shut off the restore to clear the folder due to
an old virus but that has been cleared for a while now. Please help me fix
this, thanks.

Hey Caesar,

As you are finding out, Windows Servers do not work the same as Windows
Desktop Operating Systems. Though I cannot fathom why you would have a
server on a dual-boot system (I can only guess it is for test or study
purposes) I recommend that you do the following, but read to the end for a
much better solution: Install your SBS, then create a Ghost image of the
partition. If you have to restore, it will restore in minutes.

HAVING SAID THAT:

If you are running on that sort of configuration, I recommend you invest in
Microsoft Virtual Server, or at the very least Microsoft Virtual PC 2004.
This will allow you the following advantages:

1. Allow you to eliminate your dual-boot, while letting you use both OSes.
2. Give you the option to practice true networking by assigning IP addresses
to both systems (without investing in any hardware!).
3. Allow you to save snapshots of system states at any point, for better
control of restore-points.

I hope this helps!

Thanks Mitch. That Virtual PC sounds like a must buy for me and you are
right when you said I have the dual boot for study purposes. I'm working on
an MCSA in Server 2003 and wanted to see it to study at home a little bit. I
do own a copy of Ghost and will do that too. I only wish Linksys would make
a wireless driver for Server 2003 so I don't need to run a wire when using it.
