Is it possible to extract a couple of keys from the regsitry backup that
system restore does?

I have screwed up a couple of registry keys, and they will be stored in a
system restore point.

However, I do not want to restore the entire point for various reasons, so
wondered if System Restore saved the registry in a .reg format or similar
that I could access.

Thanks

No, you cannot extract selectable parts of a System Restore file.

No - sorry. It is an all or nothing matter. You need to make a point
immediately before fiddling with the registry so as to have one you
could unwind to
