system keeps rebooting

I am having a bit of a nightmare.
My system is difficult to start from cold with lots of rebootsuntil finally
ok but often reboots again if I click OE6 or IE6. Not always just sometimes.
Sometimes I can get into OE6 but clicking on sent folder or inbox
crashes/reboots my machine. Checked with Nortons for viruses but nil.

Any help gratefully received....John Lowe UK

Need a lot more info there John.

What OS are you running? what, if any, error messages are you receiving?
etc...
