svchost.exe

hello,

I am running Windows 2000 Professional on a Panasonic
laptop. I keep getting this error message when running IE
6. In fact this happened just now as I was writing this
post.

Program error -

Svchost.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
windows. You will need to restart the program. An error
log is being created.

Ive posted this same problem before and was told to look
in the task manager when this happened and figure out
which svchost.exe was failing. I did that and figured out
it was the first one on the list out of 4.

What exactly do I do now???
Please help!!!!!

Tricky subject. Svchost.exe is a legit Win2000 file as I understand it.

Yet there are Trojans which go by the same appellation. That's why it's
tricky (for me).

So, read those for starters. There is much that you may learn. It is to be
hoped someone will help you in this thread with specific answers. Of course
