svchost.exe and msdos.exe runnning

I have a virus but do not know what to do. I have
downloaded all the latest spybot adaware and virus
software but to know avail.

On first boot running Windows XP and without running any
other programs, I look at my task manager. MSDOS.exe and
SVCHost.exe are both taking up 48% and 52% of resource
respectively leaving the CPU usage at 100%.

If I close down MSDOS.exe is stops the resource use of
both programs.

Does anybody have any ideas or theories I could use
