Strange problem.

U'll have to modify ur boot.ini file. This can be done as:

-Navigate to Control Panel> System> Advanced
-In the Startup and Recovery section, go to Settings.
-Choose Edit and ur boot.ini file will open in notepad.
-Under the [operating systems] sections,u'll have two
entries. Remove the version u dont have.
-Type '/fastdetect' at the end of the line of the version
u are left with if it does not already have it.

This would solve ur problem.
