First, run a full virus scan with current virus definitions. Download
and install spybot and adaware - use someone else's PC if necessary and
burn them to a CD - and download current updates for them then run them
to remove any spyware/malware. With luck, this will fix your problem.

probably just an advertising skeem(spelling?). Download
Ad-Aware 6 from www.download.com. Run the updates for
that program and also scan for spyware. Quarantine it and
it should be fine after that.

Don't click on OK when you see this message. Get
yourself the technet install for XP Service Pack 2 RC2.
This is a pre-official release of the next service pack
for Windows XP. It will install a popup blocker for
you. Also install Adaware and Spybot Search and
Destroy. You can find these on www.download.com. Make
sure you run windows update also.

You call yourself an "XP Guru" and you advise people to install beta
software on their computers? Beta operating system software?

Some guru.

Rocky

He just calls himself that. It does not mean he IS a Guru which I think is
very evident.
