Hello

I have checked the box in OE6 to disable HTML following advice in this NG so
as to stop spammers getting confirmations of their nasties being read but it
does not seem to be a complete solution. I have also disabled message
received confirmations.

My firewall shows a host of outgoing confirmation for the likes of
"doubleclick, hitbox and questionmarket".

Is there any way that one can stop all spam messages from confirming being
read and thereby the validity of the email address?

TIA

You probably have some spyware on your computer. Remove spyware with
Spybot Search & Destroy from www.safer-networking.org and Ad-aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure to update these programs before running
them. These programs are free, so run them both since they complement
each other. It is best to run antivirus and spyware removal tools in
Safe Mode. You may also want to run CWShredder and HijackThis from
http://aumha.org/freeware.htm. Although CWShredder is no longer being
updated, it will still clean older variants of the CoolWebSearch
malware. Please read the instructions carefully.

I use Pegusus Mail and have the "accept confirm reading requests"
unchecked. Therefor, they never enter my inbox.
