While installing SP2, I got the following error messages:
The file C:\WINDOWS\System32\ieuinit.inf is not found on
the system. I also got a second error message right
after this one which read: The file: C\WINDOWS\System32
\hompage.inf is not found on the system.
After both of these error messages, the
message "Installation Failed" came up.
The computer seems to be working fine and the new
features of SP 2 seem to be working. I am looking for
feedback on whether either of these files are needed and
do I actually have SP2 correctly installed.
This problem occurred on a 1998 vintage IBM Aptiva which
started out on Windows 98. I installed SP2 on two newer
computers that I have, without any errors occuring. I
have regularly used Windows Update on all my machines
since installing XP.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
