software installation problems

i am trying to install a program called Speedi onto my computer. I have the
inital program installed, however, I must apply the provided Service pack
upgrades in order for it to function.

When it starts to install, it goes so far into the installation, and then
just quits. It tells that it was not able to install, and then makes you
close out the upgrade window.

This is a brand new computer, IBM, with win xp on it. The other computers
here that are the same have no problem with the software installation and
upgrade. I have also tried to install the software and the upgrades on a
older computer that was running win95, and it had no problems.

Can someone please help me out here? Is there a setting that I need to
modify in order to allow this to be installed? I have tried to add this
program to the trusted programs list, so that it would not be blocked by a
firewall or anything... I just dont know what to do. Even the Tech people who
troubleshoot this software have no clue. It is just my computer. Can anyone
help?

Try disabling your anti virus auto scan before installing.

Contact the software vendor for help with installing their product.

Follow the docs:

Close down all background apps., for starters.
