Hi, Britt -
With XP Professional you'll find the SNMP tools under
Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs --> Add/Remove
Windows Components --> Management and Monitoring Tools.
Hit the 'Details' button and you'll see it.
If you want to make SNMP calls without installing an SNMP
service on Windows XP you'll have to look to a third-
party program. I don't know whether one is available,
but since every application that needs to be written has
already been written by someone, a web search might bring
you what you're looking for ;-)
Good luck -

I'm looking to make SNMP calls from the XP command/dos
prompt. From what I can get off of MS site I need the
SNMP management software for windows but of course that
is no where to be found. Can anyone tell me exactly where
to find the addon that will allow me to do this? I do not
want to run the snmp service on my machine I want to
query snmp supported equipment from my desktop...
