The SiS 655 Intel Pentium 4 chipset brings with it dual-channel PC2700 (DDR333). While SiS has already had support for PC3200 (DDR400) it does not give any real increase in performance. SiS have not included support PC2700 (DDR333) with the SiS 655 chipset. Bandwidth of the SiS 655 dual-channel PC2700 (DDR333) memory controller is 5.4GB/s which is more than the bandwidth required by the Intel Pentium 4 533MHz (133MHz QDR) processor of 4.2GB/s. No Serial-ATA but then only the next Intel ICH5 will have it. Motherboard makers simply include a Serial-ATA card. Our preference is for SCSI hard drives, which are very fast and are a lot cheaper than they were years ago so this is not a disadvantage to us. The SiS 655 does not have support for the next version of the Intel Pentium 4 with 200MHz (800MHz QDR) FSB, but then neither do the other Intel chipsets.
