When I creat a shortcut Icon on my desktop for my CD writer (D:\) and then I click on it I get the following message: "Windows is searching for D:\ " To locate the file yourself click on "Browse". And then windows comes up with the following message after a while when it has stopped searching: Even when there is a CD with data or music in the CD Writer!

The Item "D:\"that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved so that this shortcut will no longer work properly.

Nearest match based on size, date and type: C: ...etc....etc. ( wrong shotcut).
Do you want to fix this shortcut ? abd of course fix it does not work so cancel and

Obviously the icon was pointing to wrong item and path. This icon used to work. Now it's toast......any ideas please would be helpful.

Thanks

Have you tried deleting the non functional icon and creating a new one?
