share folder

When I share a folder and wan to set the permissions, I go to the properties
of the folder but there is no tab security????

I have been successful in sharing it but where is the permissions tab???

Are you running XP Home Edition? I don't believe Home Edition has a security tab in normal mode. However, I believe booting into Safe Mode will make the security tab available to you.

In xp pro you have to disbale simple file sharing first:
In explorer -- tools, folder options, view tab, uncheck: use simple file
sharing.
Now the security tab will show.

In xp home boot to safe mode.
