hi, every time I try to run my AV service (AntiVir
Personal Editon) on my xp pro machine, or for that matter
try to start O&ODefrag my machine crashes but on reboot
everything is ok and there are no errors logged in
eventvwr.msc. I have contacted both companies but was
wondering in the mean time if the knowledgable peaople on
this forum might spot a solution. Here is a list of
disabled services on my machine which does not connect to
the internet and which you can obviously see i have
changed from the defaults.
Thanks for your time.

SERVICE_NAME: SSDPSRV
SERVICE_NAME: SCardSvr
SERVICE_NAME: Schedule
SERVICE_NAME: SCardDrv
SERVICE_NAME: RemoteAccess
SERVICE_NAME: O&O Defrag-sounds like it should be
enabled for your O&O Defrag, don't you think?
SERVICE_NAME: Netlogon

SERVICE_NAME: MSDTC
SERVICE_NAME: Messenger
SERVICE_NAME: LexBceS
SERVICE_NAME: Irmon
SERVICE_NAME: KPF4
SERVICE_NAME: HidServ
SERVICE_NAME: ERSvc
SERVICE_NAME: AntiVirService-I'd guess that's your AV
SERVICE_NAME: AVWUpSrv-That's probably your AV update service
SERVICE_NAME: BITS
SERVICE_NAME: Browser
SERVICE_NAME: cisvc
SERVICE_NAME: ClipSrv

If you aren't certain exactly what a service you want to
disable does:set it to manual. That way,it will start as
and when needed.

Tip:A more easy way to display running services:

Start>run>type: cmd click O.K.

type: tasklist /svc press the enter key.

(type exit then press the enter key to close down the
command box again when you've finished.)

All the best.

Regards
