Sent messages copied into a new folder

When sending a message a folder and rule has been set up to automatically
copy the message into a folder ie., messages sent to Joe D, a copy is placed
in Joe D's folder, but Outlook marks it as unread. Is there any way to mark
this as read?
 
I am with you Terri, I would like to find an answer to this issue also. Can
anyone help us??
