I have followed all of the steps in the Display for the
Control Panel to set my color quality at High (24-bit),
but when I reboot my computer the quality goes back to
Low (8-bit). This never happened before until I installed
Kodak's EasyShare software. Any sugestion about this? I
would appreciate an e-mail reply from anyone who can help.

Hi, Friar. Sorry, no free email support. Try uninstalling the EasyShare
software, or doing a System Restore to before you installed it if it
wasn't very long ago. Does that fix the problem? If it does, then you
know there is a conflict between the software and probably your video
drivers. You could try updating your video card drivers (from the
device mftr.'s website, not from Windows Update). It might also be a
good idea to look on Kodak's website for tech support relating to this
program. It may be a known issue and Kodak might have an answer, or a
patch.

Hi, Friar. Sorry, no free email support. Try uninstalling the EasyShare
software,

I'd recommend removing EasyShare 1. because of your specific problem
and 2. because it wants to run at bootup which is completely
unnecessary (and which you could prevent just be removing the icon
from the StartUp group).

BTW, even without EasyShare installed you can very easily get the pics
off your digital camera. With the camera off, hook it up to the USB
cable. Then turn on the camera. You'll hear a bell sound when it is
recognized. Now the camera shows up as a device in Windows Explorer
and you can manually move or copy the pics to your hard drive. And if
you move them, then you will delete them from the memory card
automatically.

As for manipulating your images, you might want to look into
purchasing PhotoShop Elements or PaintShop Pro. Both are better
software packages.
