screen resolution on startup keeps resetting to lower res. HELP

I got a new dell a few weeks ago and set the machine up the way i wanted part
of this was a screen resolution if 1024x768 last night i setup broadband for
my machine and during one of the restarts for changed setting the resolution
switched back to 800x600. and even though i keep resetting it to 1024x768 it
keeps going back to 800x600 every time i restart my machine.

someone help please as this is very frustrating.

Double check that the "correct monitor" is set for your computer.

If that does not solve it....try deleting the existing "monitor" in the control panel > system properties > hardware >
device manager > monitors

Then re-start your PC
