RE: Scheduled Tasks Error - "This version of Disk Defragmenter does not

system

Hello,

I scheduled the Disk Defragmenter to run once a week on Saturday mornings
about a year ago, and seem to recall having run single instances in the
interim, but when I tried to run the Defragmenter this evening, I got the
following error: "This version of Disk Defragmenter does not support running
more than one instance.". I searched the Microsoft KB with no luck, and then
enabled Multiple Schedules (entered Password and Defragmenter opened on
schedule, but error appeared again). I'm at a loss. My hard drive is
partitioned into C: and D:, and both are "grayed out" on the Defragmenter. I
thought I'd run single instances of the Defragmenter at unscheduled times
since setting up a weekly schedule, and I certainly do not recall the error,
but it's definitely occurring now. Has anyone run into this error, or are
there any ideas or suggestions on how to get around the problem? Listed
system specs below. Thank you.

Close all instances of any mmc's that are open. Go into task manager
