Rule will not MOVE messages

When I create a rule to MOVE a message, the message appears to be COPIED to
the target directory instead of MOVED. The original message is still in the
original directory AND the target. What do I have to do to delete the
original message automatically?

You have to add the "stop processing more rules" action to your rules.

hi steve

i got a similar problem like yours. i got a rule in outlook 2003 for my
out-going messages that does not run automatically, although the rule is
"turned on". my rules for incoming messages run fine and my incoming messages
get filed away immediately when i receive them.

i want my out-going message rules to run in same manner but it doesn't. i
have to run the rules manually, to file away my out-going messages

any suggestions ?

thanks

If you describe your rule in some detail, perhaps someone will be able to
suggest something. Include your Outlook version and account type.
