Greg

I downloaded some photos into my computer. Without my
knowledge my daughter used system restore on this computer
and now the photos are gone. Is it possible to recover
them somehow?? I cannot download again because they were
deleted from camera. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You

Doing a system restore does not delete or remove files.
You simply may not remember in which folder they are.
Search to display all your photos files on your hard drive and you will
probably find them.
Click on Start, click on Search, Pictures and Pictures again.
In the textbox, type in exactly the following:
*.jpg
and click on search. Thumbnails of all your photos will be displayed. Once
you recognize the photo, place your mouse pointer over it. A textbox will
open giving you the location of the folder.

Greg,

System Restore does not monitor .jpg files so your files should still be there unless they were manually deleted. As for recovering them if you think that SR did remove them, you can simply run SR again and chose the option of undoing your last restore. This will take the system back to the state that it was in when your restore was done. Please let me know if the undo does restore your pictures...if so I need to know what directory they were downloaded to.

Thanks,

If you are unable to find the image files by
searching your hard drive, you may be able
to recover the files from your memory card
with software of the type discussed in the
