Reset XP Administrative Password

Someone or maybe me changed my logon feature to require an admin password(
since I am the admin). I don't recall ever putting a password when I loaded
the software so how do I get into the system without it? Is there a way to
restore the OS without needing the admin password? I got on the computer just
fine yesterday and the only thing I did was change the picture next to my
logon name.

Need to get in! My PC has everything. The only other thing I can think of
is to recover it with and external drive except it's a serial ATA and
currently don't have the means to do that.

Help!

Are you talking about the in built Administrator account or another
account with administrator privileges. If the latter then login to the
in built Administrator account. If this is XP Pro at the Welcome screen
do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice, then type in Administrator in the name box and
the password for that account which was set up when XP was installed.
If it's XP Home boot into safe mode. The Administrator account will
show on the login screen. Normally no password is set for XP Home
unless you changed that.

If it's the built in Administrator account login to any other account
with Admin level privileges and change the password on the Administrator
account.
