Can anyone tell me if and how I remove xp pro and re-
install 2000 NT. My pc works better with 2000NT but when
I insert cd it says that the windows version now
operating is newer than what is on cd and cannot use the
setup.
Do I have to remove xp manually first and if so, will I
lose all my progs? And how do I remove xp ?
Grateful for reply by e-mail.
Cheers
Jacques

You will need to do a clean install and you will have to
reinstall your programs. Be sure to backup your important
data so you will not lose it.

Good Luck.

Hi Jacques,

The only way back is to format and do a clean installation of Win2000. This
will lose all installed programs and data, so backuyp anything you do not
wish to losee before beginning.

Greetings --

There is no "rollback" to Win2K.

To replace WinXP with an earlier OS, you'll have to boot from the
appropriate boot disk, format the hard drive, and install. There is
no supported downgrade path or technique.

Simply boot from the Win2K installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and/or format the system partition as
part of the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the
order of boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
