Remains of old antivirus

M

Running XP Home
When right click recycle bin, appears an option "analyze
in ... antivirus". This is an old AV software which was
uninstalled about 3 years ago, however, looks like it
left remains on the system (I think it was a program
poorly written). Question is, how can I fully remove it?
I don't have installer anymore.

Thanks gurus

You can track down the file/process name and remove that
from the registry. But you must only remove the correct
entry, remove the wrong or too many entries and your system
will have problems.

You may be able to find some registry cleaners/scanners, but
I would NOT recommend you use the automatic features, just
scan for orphan entries and decide on your own what to
delete. And backup the registry before editing.

Registry cleaners not designed for XP multi-user environment
may detect and flag other user files and folders as orphans.

message | Thanks Jim I'll look for these entries from the registry.
