Reinstalled XP Problem

I reinstalled my Home XP over the original Installation and have had a few
problems since.

1 - Couldn't get connected to the internet via my BT Broadband, BT gave me a
query number for M$ who fixed that problem.

2 - I can't add my monitor into the PCs hardware. Obviously I get a picture
on it but I can't add it so I can change refresh rate and display
resolution. Can anyone help with this? When I go into my hardware config
it doesn't display a monitor and I can't get Add New Hardware to add one.

Have you tried going into Device Manager and using the update driver
option?
