Reformatting Hard Drive

I have a Dell Dimension KPS 7500 I purchased 5 years ago.
When I originally partioned the hard drive (using
Powerquest PartitionMagic 4.0) I thought I allocated
enough C Drive space to accomodate all the software I
would ever be using, partitioning logical D,E,F, drives
accordingly to handle business and drive space for all
other files. Today I find myself in a pickle as I'm
running out of C Drive disk space and cannot install any
other softwarethat defaults to the C Drive when it
installs.

Here's my question:
I just ordered the full version (not upgrade) of Windows
XP Professional. Can I reformat and reallocate my hard
drive with the new O/S then reinstall all my software? I
want to allocate a lot more space for my C Drive and
smaller partitions for subsequent logical drives. If I
can, how do I do that and what apps and utilities are
shipped with XP Professional that allow me to do that? If
XP Professional will not allow me to do that is there any
software that I can buy that will allow me to reallocate
my hard drive the way I need it.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

XP pro has all the tools to partition and format on the cd and the cd is
bootable. Just boot to it and follow instructions to partition and format
the drive.
But........... you may have trouble runnig xp on your 5 year old computer.
If it does it will most likely run poorly and you'll have lots of trouble
finding drivers for your sound and video. Five computers years is like 25
human years. If this is a business machine it just might be time for a new
computer or else I'd stay away from xp until you can upgrade to a newer
computer. If you must goto xp or just want to try and see how it runs, make
sure to run the upgrade/compatability advisor on the cd. It may run ok for
you.

There's no need to install to C drive, use Custom install - or similarly
worded - and install where you wish
