I recently upgraded from me to xp sp2. Initially i installed as an upgrade
but had problems with some programs. I restored my computer back to
original(me) and re-installed xp as a new installation. I somehow managed(I
think wrongly) to create a new hard drive (f). I want to un install xp and
re-install to install it on drive c. There is no opption to uninstall xp in
add/remove programs and the original disc(red hard disc) will not activate
system restore. My computer model is imedia 6185, 1g amd-k7, 128mb ram (which
i am upgrading when this problem is sorted), 20gb hard disc.
please help

If you intention is to complete delete all personal data and applications on
the hard drive [reformatting does this], then simply insert the XP
installation CD and follow the prompts to install AND format.

The process will also allow you to delete partitions, format drives
[partitions] and create new installation of XP.

If you do this and have the Upgrade Edition of XP, make sure that you have
your Me CD or Win 98 CD handy for when it is requested to verify the use of
the Upgrade Edition.

XP setup is detecting some installed drive as C. Perhaps a zip or other
removable drive can be unplugged during setup to let you go in as C,
replugging it later.

There is a setup start command that lets you pick the drive letter, but I
think you need to remove the other drives for that, too.
