Can anyone tell me why I only see a red x where images should be on web
sites?
Thanks...

It is because your cache is full, in IE, tools, Internet Options, delete files...

There are several possibilities. One may be an old version of Adobe
Acrobat another might be a security program blocking the images.

Most commonly it is a problem with your Hosts file. Programs like Kazaa lite
will modify your hosts file which can prevent you from viewing certain
images.

Go to, on your system:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC

Copy the Hosts file and name it HOSTS.old - this is your backup copy

Now, open the original HOSTS file with notepad (doubleclick it, choose
"select program from list", scroll down and doubleclick "notepad"). Now
delete very line except "127.0.0.1 localhost"

There should only be the above line in it.

If something should go wrong after modifying your hosts file, simply delete
the HOSTS file you modified and rename "hosts.old" to "HOSTS" - which is
your backup copy.

For more information about what the HOSTS file is:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

Also, see this MS site on your problem:

Hope this helps
