recycle bin empty

delete files and nothing appears in recycle bin. I do not have Norton like
most other questions, so that's not a problem. Where do the files I deleted
go? How come nothing appears in bin? (Windows XP SP2)

It is possible that your Windows is setup to permanently delete files
instead of sending them to the Recycle Bin first.

To correct this, go to your Desktop, right-mouse click the Recycle Bin and
click Properties.

In the Global Tab clear the check beside "Do not move files to the Recycle
Bin..."

If you selected "Configure drives independently", besure to change this
setting to all applicable drives on your system.

the only box checked is "use one setting for all drives"
Have 4 uses on computer..nothing shows up in any recycle box but when you
try to empty each one it states:
user one (me) delete all files
user two: delete 5 files
user three: delete 34 files
user 4. No reccycle bin on desktop
