Recovering unsaved word document

I wrote about 5 pages of my thesis yesterday in a word document and I closed
it by accident choosing "don't save" when it was prompted. No idea why I did
that. Is there any way I can somehow retreive the document to before I closed
it? I tried system restore but it does not give me the option of restoring to
yesterday.

System restore does not restore documents. If you have never saved the
document, and have no backup, the document is gone.
