Recent Files Deletion ?

Is there any way to selectively delete, via a batch file, the
shortcuts in the Recent Files Folder? I'd like to keep the Excel and
Word documents' listings so they will appear when I use Excel and
Word, but delete the others (jpg, mp4, etc.).

I've created a batch file with what looks like the appropriate
commands, but they don't reference the shortcuts; here's an example:
del /q /s /f "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Recent\*.jpg"

Thanks for any assistance.
