reboots automatically

I am using Window XP on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. When I press the power button the BIOS loads and then Windows starts to Load. With in 5 to 10 seconds the lap top turns it self off and then reboots on its own. Simular to doing a hot boot. Also same as if a new update was installed and then performing a reboot with out prompting.

also have same problem. After power off, it reboots automatically. Therefore I must swith off, but next power on , appears a message about shut down. Many friends have same problem and someone told me there is a patch somewhere Windows XP web page. If you find something, please alert me where to find or how to correct
