my windows keeps rebooting after i messed up installing a slave HD.
the slave HD has been taken out and now windows keeps restarting as soon as
it loads up.

safe mode does not work either, only dos safe mode

windows restarts when the add hardware wizard pops up a little buble saying
"secondary IDE device found" and then it restarts.
 
When you get to the menu to select safemode there is an option to load last
known good configuration, have you tried that.??

Did you reset the jumpers on the main drive?

Unplug ALL drives except the hard drive...and make sure you've changed
the jumpers on that drive to the proper setting.
