random text typing on its own ..!

Please help. Is this a virus or something else. Whenever
I log on to net and use ANY dialogue box or fill out a
form - including this one. Text starts appearing on its
own. What seems like random text just typing away. Even
if I leave Word open and I'm online - it will type pages
of nonsense text all on it's own.!!! Please can anyone
help. This might coincide with the language bar appearing
but no matter what I do to switch this off, it keeps
coming back. It's very disconcerting. Text even appears
in my outlook network confirmation password box!!! I
update mcafee virus daily and have done a full check -
nothing.

It could be a problem with your keyboard... can you try switching it?

sorry, don't know what you mean. It's a laptop - keyboard
built in.

It types on screen even if I'm nowhere near it!

1) If you think you have a virus, try an online scan at
http://housecall.antivirus.com and see if it finds anything. Is your McAfee
of recent vintage?

2) You can disable speech recognition entirely - are you just closing it?
You can right-click on it in the taskbar to do this, I believe...
