Yesterday I went to log on and noticed that I had some
programs running (indicated on logon) however none were
running when the desktop opened. In start-up there is
nothing that has the name pup in it. There are some
programs with numbers only. I tried to delete them but
they came back during the next boot up. Anyone have a
clue?

I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to with "there is nothing that
has the name pup in it", but if programs are starting at boot, they might be
registered as services. Check your Services (Control Panel > Administrative
Tools > Services in Classic View) for the program you mention. If it is
registered as a service, you could try and unregister the program as a
service, or you could muff the database entries to remove it yourself.
