public folders on exchange server

I have a hosted exchange server which my group uses. We are trying to come
up with a creative way to be able to drag our individuals messages (coming
into each of our inboxes), and drag them to the public folder structure,
where we'll then have a stream of all communication happening on a particular
deal/topic. Trouble is, we are stuck figuring out how to update ourselves
with all changes that happen in a given day. Any suggestions or products
folks have used?

Speedreading?

You must ask yourself if it is really worth it to read and memorize each and
every email. There are various sales/support/CRM software products on the
market where you can store all the contact information, group it and
summarize the communication between you and the contact so when necessary a
colleague can read up in seconds. You can discuss specific cases during a
weekly meeting or newsletter.

so if I'm understading correctly, OL itself does not have an easy way to do
this, with multiple people receiving multiple pieces of information.

Other question is whether search folders can be used for the public folders,
as I cannot seem to get them to focus on the public folders, only on my main
mailbox and pst files. Any help on that would be most useful.

You weren't talking about contents here?

If you just want to place a copy in the Public Folder you can use a (client
side) Move To Folder rule here or mail enable the Public Folder so you can
send to it directly.

Search Folders indeed don't work on Public Folders. You can however add a
folder to you Public Folder Favorites and from there you can add it to your
Favorite Folders pane which shows on top in the Mail Navigation.
