I am attempting to setup a peer-to-peer network, no
external connection, and I cannot get Computer Browser to
start. I get an event ID message of 2550, can't find this
on MS site anywhere. Ideas?

check services like server and workstation services are started. also make
sure enable tcp/ip.

Robert thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I did
check and those services are running. Any other ideas?
Maybe I should just reload XP Pro and see if the computer
browser service is enabled by default.

I found what the problem was. Having worked in a large
corporation by default we disable the MaintainList
regestry setting and I forgot this. Once I set it back to
YES I was able to get my peer-to peer network running.
