I'm trying to copy my outlook data from one laptop with
win 2000 into another with win xp. Both have outlook xp.
This is how I tried to do it: I go to 'Documents and
settings' in c: 'my account' folder, 'Application
data', 'Microsoft', 'Outlook'. I copy all the data there
and then paste them in the corresponding folder in the
other laptop. But when I open Outlook in destination
laptop, no data. All copied data appear in the
destination floder but not in Outlook when opened. I use
correct path for user account. What am I doing wrong? Can
I copy data from older windows and Outlook versions, say
98 or Me, into wind xp and Office 2003? Thanks

Use File | Open to browse to and open the PST file. After that you will need
to set it as default for your delivery.
An alternative is to import the old PST data into the current profile using
File | Import and Export .....

Hi Bill
Thanks for your prompt reply. I'm not quite clear on what
you mean. Which file do I use and open? I can't see .pst
files, do I creat one in source folder and anothe in
destination? Thee doesn't seem to be import/export option
in the file menu, where do I find it?

Thanks
