Has anyone come across a simple, basic print counter for use on Epson R 200
and 750 Photo with XP please? All I want is the number of black and colour
prints for each printer so I can monitor how long it is safe to use a
chipped cartridge without risking damage to the print heads. The figure is
usually quoted at about 30 prints.

This is a function built into printers, not the OS.

Yes, but not into Epsons, unfortunately, at least, not for the owner to see.
It doesn't sound like rocket science to write a prog to monitor the print
command every time or read the keystrokes in the print boxes, so I am hoping
there is something other than the two complicated ones I have found that
will do the job. As there are about a million web page counters around, you
would think there would be a print counter, wouldn't you?

No.

Next time buy HP. They have page counters in many of the printer BIOS'
