Hello all computer geniuses,

I am having problems when I try to play a video file I
have. I posted this problem many times before on this
forum. The
problem is that it lags whilst trying to play. I scanned
for viruses, did disk cleanup, and disk defragmenter.
Now, this is where it got interesting. It said in disk
defragmenter that "the movie in discussion.AVI" could not
be defragmented. I think this is the cause of the
problem, but I do not know what to do next.

My specs are as follow:

512mb ram
60g harddrive 20gb free
32 mb G force grapgics card.
2.4 GHZ prcessor.

For other video files, even at better quality, they play
fine. It is just this file that lags.

Please help fix this

What is the file size of the movie in question? What codec is it being used

Have you tried to play the file with another application (e.g. real
player...) ? Are your players up to date with the latest decoders and updates?
Have you DIVX decoder installed?

Open it with Windows Media Player and then go to File/Properties/.
As it is an AVI I assume you will need DIVX.

Try making a copying the file and playing that.
